Scott Henderson was born in 1954 in a time where blues-rock was "at it's peak." He grew up in Florida, and played in several clubs in the area. He was influenced by other greats such as Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, and Buddy Guy.
Henderson graduated from Florida Atlantic University and then moved to Los Angeles. He began to play and record with Chick Corea's Electric Band.
In 1984, Henderson formed Tribal Tech with bassist Gary Willis. Together they released 9 albums, and have toured throughout the US, Europe, and South America.
In 1991, Henderson was named the number 1 Jazz guitarist by Guitar World Magazine. He was given the same award by Guitar Player Magazine's reader's poll.
Henderson decided to move back to his roots with the release of Dog Party in 1994. Guitar Player Magazine recognized him again with the award for Best Blues Album of 1994.
In 1997, Henderson teamed up with legendary vocalist Thelma Houston to record Tore Down the House. This album received rave reviews by critics and fans alike.
2000 saw the release of Rocket Science with his band Tribal Tech. He is also touring in promotion of the album. The band is also currently in the process of recording another album which is due out next summer.
Scott Henderson has also spent much of his time writing articles for various guitar magazines, and is also on the faculty at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California.
